Hat Brink die (R)Evolution wirklich vorangetrieben?

Der Titel sagt so ziemlich alles, ich werde mich mit Bethesdas/Splash Damages neuestem Machwerk befassen, dem Ego-Shooter “Brink”. Vorab erstmal handelt es sich bei diesem Spiel weder um einen Call-of-Duty-noch einen Battlefield-Klon, sondern um ein Spiel welches aus beiden Spielen Elemente verwendet und gleichzeitig eigene einbaut.
Das Neu-Aufgewärmte wäre:
- das Klassensystem aus bekannt BF, insgesamt mit vier Klassen, welche jede ihre eigene Stärken und Schwächen hat
- die Waffenkonfiguration aus sowohl CoD als auch BF
- der Aufgaben basierte Ablauf bekannt aus den diversen Mehrspieler-Karten beider Lager
Und da enden auch schon die groben Gemeinsamkeiten, die jedoch einen nicht kleinen Teil des Spiels ausmachen wie ihr später noch sehen werdet.
Die neuen Elemente sind:
Wer nicht lesen will, sehe sich die Trailer an:
- das vielgerühmte SMART-System (Smooth Movement across rough Terrain; zu deutsch: flüssige Bewegung über unebenes Gelände), damit ist gemeint, dass ihr nun schneller über Kisten springen und euch z.B. an Wänden abstoßen könnt
- eine Kampagne, die aus zwei Fraktionen besteht und somit überlappent ist, was zur Folge, dass ihr im Mehrspieler-Modus immer auf der Seite seid, für die ihr die Kampagne bestreitet
- ein Hop-On/Hop-Of Online -Modus, der es ermöglicht, dass man jederzeit ein und aussteigen kann, dank der Tatsache, dass jedes der Teams aus entweder Spielern oder KI besteht, um die Ränge aufzufüllen
- es gibt vier verschiedene Herausforderungsmodi, welche es euch ermöglichen Zubehör fur eure Waffen sowie neue Waffen freizuschalten (alle diese Spielmodi kommen auch in den Kampagnen vor)
- die Tatsache, dass eine Kampagnenmission bereits nach 10 Minuten mit eurem Sieg oder nach einer Stunde mit eurer Niederlage enden kann
- das Prinzip der Kampagenen ist wie eine Mehrspielerkarte aufgebaut: zwei Fraktionen, zwei feste Spawnpoints, einnehmbare Versorgungsposten, sowie diverse Missionsziele
- bevor es losgeht müsst ihr euch für eine Seite entschieden, könnt aber beide Kampagenen durchspielen, da ihr für beide Seiten einen Charakter habt
- da ist auch schon das erste Problem, nämlich die Tatsache, dass z.B. die Tatoos permanent sind, ihr sie also icht mehr ändern könnt; was ihr allerdings könnt,ist die Narben und Tatoos später ergänzen, sie sind jedoch auch dann permanent
-an eure Waffen könnt ihr so ziemlich alles anschrauben vom Vorgriff bis Reflexvisier, fast alles ist bei fast allen Waffen möglich
- das wäre dann der nächste Punkt, der Körperbau, welchen ihr stets ändern könnt und welcher darüber entscheidet, was für Waffen ihr tragen könnt(Leicht kann nur MPs,Scharfschützengewehre und Pistolen; Mittel kann alles bis auf schwere Waffen, also Sturmgewehre Granatwerfer und Schrotflinten; Schwer kann alles von der Gatling zur Pistole)
- die Wahl des Körperbaus bestimmt auch eure Gesundheitsmenge sowie eure Beweglichkeit (nach dem Prinzip: Wer mehr aushält ist auch schwerer)
- überdies könnt ihr auch Kleidungstücke durch Leveling freischalten, jedoch dienen die der Ästhetik sonst nichts
- überdies erhaltet ihr pro Level einen Fähigkeitspunkt den ihr in die Talente der einzelnen Klassen investieren sollt (es gibt insgesamt 5 Ränge mit jeweils 5 Stufen, also insgesamt 25 Punkte zu verdienen), selbstverständlich gibt es mehr Fähigkeiten zum Freischalten als es Punkte gibt (niemand soll und will den Supercharakter haben, oder?!)
Und damit hätten wir erst einmal das Generelle des Spielaufbaus besprochen, nun zum Inhalt:
Das Ganze spielt in der nahen Zukunft wo durch globale Erwärmung die Pole schmolzen und der Wasserpegel stieg. Nun leben einige Menschen auf der Ark, einer komplett unabhängigen schwimmenden künstlichen Insel. Doch von der Existenz dieser Insel haben eine menge Leute erfahren und so entstanden die Slums der “Gäste”, welche mittlerweile ca. 80% der Bevölkerung der Ark beherbergen, jedoch nur über ca. 20% der Resourcen verfügen.
Und der Widerstand, eine der beiden Fraktionen, will dies, auch mit Gewalt, ändern. Angeführt werden sie von “Bruder Cheng”, der ein Ende der Rationierung und gleiches Recht für alle fordert. Dies versucht die Sicherheit unter Captain Mokoela zu verhindern um die Ark weiter in Betrieb zu halten.
Der Kampf tobt also und beide Seiten bekämpfen sich bis aufs Messer. Jedoch scheint es, als wäre die Sicherheit dieser typische verlängerte Arm der Diktatur, was sie allerdings nicht ist. Im Gegenteil, ihre Aufgabe ist es Gewalt und tötliche Gewalt als letztes Mittel einzusetzen und auch nur um die Ark von Kontat mit der Außenwelt abzuhalten. Denn anders als man glauben möchte haben Leute überlebt , sind jedoch zu kannibalistisches Wilden degeneriert, eine Tatsache die streng geheim gehalten wird.
Und der Widerstand ist auch nicht so nobel wie sie immer behaupten, setzen sie doch chemische als auch biologische Waffen ein, um ihre Ziele zu verwirklichen.
In einer der optionalen Missionen kann sogar der Atomreaktor der Ark, die Hauptenergiequelle , vom Widerstand in die Luft gesprengt werden, was zu einem nuklearen Niederschlag und furchtbaren Bedingungen führt.
Und da sind wir auch schon beim nächsten Thema: die Kampagnen und die KI
Die Kampagne fällt mit nicht einaml 20 Missionen schon recht kurz aus und kann sicherlich sehr lange dauern, jedoch sollte es nicht mehr als 6 bis 8 Stunden auf Normal dauern, bis ihr alle Missionen durchgespielt habt.
Nicht besonders lang , aber auch nicht zu kurz. Jedoch hat man das Gefühl, dass ,wenn man durch ist, irgendetwas Großes noch kommen wird.
Das ist insbesondere der Fall , wenn ihr für den Widerstand alles gepackt habt und man per Flugzeug versucht Hilfe zu holen.
Ein Cliffhanger für einen zweiten Teil?! Wenn ja, dann käme ich mir doch leicht verarscht vor insbesondere für den happigen Preis von immerhin stolzen 60 Euro.
Auch die Herausforderungen, max 12 an der Zahl, sind nicht unbedingt der Bringer, da sie an vielen Stellen alleine nicht zu bewältigen scheinen und sicherlich extrem stark frustrieren können.
Das liegt nicht zuletzt an der doch whrlich schwach geratenen KI. Die bekommt es nämlich hin sich von einem Gegner auf “Normal” dutzenweise abschlachten zu lassen. Und das obwohl sie Gesundheits-, Rüstungs- und Waffenboosts gleichzeitig hat und der Gegner praktisch in die Mündung glotzt. Mehr als einmal bin ich gestorben, weil die KI es nicht hingekriegt hat einen Gegner in über 1 Minute plattzumachen.
Das ist eine Revolution … des absoluten Irrsinns.
Was jedoch glänzt ist das Klassensystem, dass keiner der vier Klassen Agent, Sanitäter, Soldat und Techniker irgendwelche großartigen Vorteile einräumt.
In manchen Speilen, wie z.B Killzone 2 konnte ein Sani so ziemlich alles vernichten und nebenbei noch dick XP absahnen.
Diese Rambo-Vorgehensweise aus CoD hat uns zwar schon in diesem Spiel nicht weiter gebracht, wird euch aber in Brink garantiert umbringen. Denn anders als in solchen Spielen müsst ihr in Brink zusehen, dass jeder Schuss sitzt, ansonsten geht euch nämlich eure Munition uas und ihr seid fällig. Wenn ihr als Soldat spielt, werdet ihr dieses Problem kaum kennen, da ihr eure Munition in sehr langen Abständen selbst wiederfüllen könnt. Dafür müsst ihr dann auch in Kauf nehmen, dass ihr weder eure Kameraden wiederbeleben könnt wie der Sani, keine Minen, Türme oder Barrikaden wie der Techniker bauen könnt, noch den Feind täuschen oder hacken könnt wie der Agent .
Stattdessen habt ihr als Soldat die ehrenvolle Aufgabe mit Molotow-Cocktails und Blendgranaten um euch zu werfen, sowie Sprnsätze zu legen.
Auch die Benutzung eurer Klassen-Spezialfähigkeit ist begrenzt ,in Abhängigkeit von eurer Versorgungsleiste, die sich langsam, sehr langsam, wiederfüllt.
Auch die Granaten könne nicht rausgehauen werden, wie das in CoD so gerne der Fall ist. Stattdessen müsst ihr nach jeder Benutzung warten, dass auch diese Energieleiste sich wieder füllt. Das kann frustrieren, hilft aber auch das Spiel auszugleichen.
Aber das fortschritlichste was Granaten angeht ist die Tatsache, dass nun angezeigt wird wie viel Zeit euch noch bleibt eure untere Hälfte aus der Gefahrenzone zu bringen.
Wir stellen also fest, dass Brink ein sehr ausgeglichenes Spiel ist, zumindest wenn es an die Spieleroptionen geht. Auch die Tatsache, dass ihr Steuerkonfigurationen von anderen Spielen beider Systeme nutzen könnt ist großartig (sprich: ein Xbox 360 besitzen kann mit der equivalenten Steuerung von z.B. Killzone spielen, und ein PS3 besitzen mit der von z.B. Gears of War).
Was mich jedoch extrem stört, von der dummen KI mal abgesehen, ist die Tatsache, dass nur der mittlere Körpertyp der ist, der im Großen und Ganzen effektiv ist. Der Leichte rennt zwar schneller und springt auch höher, aber das ist nur matginal. Bezahlt wird dafür mit einer lachhaften körperlichen Widerstandskraft.
Und wo wir gerade bei Körperkraft sind, ist der schwere Körpertyp natürlich ganz weit vorne, allerdings werdet ihr euch auch wie ein Panzer fühlen, insbesondere was die Geschwindigkeit angeht.
Und zum Schluss dieser Revision kommt das wohl am durchgeknalltesten :
Ihr könnt weder Quick-Scopen noch Reload-Canceln (endlich!!
), aber dafür durch eine Rutschbewegung aus dem Sprint heraus mit jedem Körpertyp jeden anderen umtreten sowie mit jedem Körpertyp jeden anderen zu Boden schlagen.
Fazit:
Brink hat zwar viele Neuerungen mit ins Genre gebracht, allen voran SMART, und auch viele alte Fehler (viel zu starke Scharfschützengewehre hust Barett Cal. 50 hust) behoben, aber macht durch eine einfach nur schwachsinnige KI und stetig campende Bots das Spielerlebnis zunichte. Auch die sicherlich gewönungsbedürftige Grafik im animierten Comic Stil hilft da nur zum Teil. Schuat euch es einfach mal hier an:
Auch die Abwesenheit einer Minimap oder einer Map allgemein helfen nicht wirklich der orientierung.
Dies alles in Verbindung mit er viel zu kurzen Kampagne machen Brink in meinen Augen zu einem Spiel, dass man vielleicht mal in die Hand genommen haben sollte, aber zum vollen Kaufpreis würde ich es nicht empfehlen.
Ich würde eine gebrauchte Version vorschlagen oder mir das Spiel irgendwo leihen, denn offline kann das Spiel einfach nur frustrierend sein. Online mit Freunden mag das anders sein, da hier viele der Mängel behoben werden, zumindest was die KI angeht (hoffentlich), aber ansonsten würde ich zwischen
und
schwanken.
Sieben sehe ich als zu wenig an, da das Spiel mehr als nur gutes Mittelfeld ist, jedoch bekomme ich bei acht Bauchschmerzen, da ich das Spiel nicht 100% als schlechte Spitze ansehe.
PS: Lasst die Finger weg von irgenwelchen Pre-Order Klamotten, das bringt überhaupt nicht, denn die Knarren, die ihr bisweilen dabei kriegt, sind nicht anderes als bereits existierende waffen bloß in einem neuen Design.

Sieht eigentlich für mich ganz interessant aus, bin aber trotzdem froh, es mir nicht zum Release geholt zu haben. Da der Preis aber relativ schnell für das Teil sinkt, wird ein Budget Kauf in nächster Zeit aber wahrscheinlich drin sein. Paladin Fenris[Kommentar zitieren]

Alos zu nem Preis von 20 Euro und drunter ist es eine Überlegung wert. Aber mehr auch nicht.
